CONVERSATIONS WITH KINGZ – LEADING IN THE DARK

Heavy is the head that wears the crown. A modernized variation of the Shakespeare idiom with a simple meaning which acknowledges those charged with major responsibility carry a heavy burden that makes it difficult for them to relax.

This Shakespearean phrase is an unspoken reality deeply engraved in the invisible crown worn by every black male ranging from early adolescent ages to the senior stages of life. Whether they’re proudly thriving or barely surviving the journey, the truth is black males innately understand that their path in life is much different from those in other cultures.

Conversations with Kingz brings black men from all ages, economic positions, backgrounds and professions together for captivating discussions that are moderated, written, recorded and celebrated for the world to see and gain a far better understanding of what it means to wear the heavy encumbered crowned worn by every black king, every single day of their life. Often misunderstood, misrepresented and misguided Conversations with Kingz  provides black kings with a very rare chance to lay their burdens down on the table amongst each other, exchanging dialogue and sharing stories that can only be told from the black male experience.

This poignant, raw and powerful engagement is captured in a soon-to-be-released novel, documentary series, touring speaker’s panel and much more.

Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

— William Shakespeare
